The work will focus on several aspects:
the performers physical training
the development of actions inspired by the use of an object
vocal exploration: the discovery of an individual rhythm, spacial awareness and dynamism
The performer's work evolves from the creation of personal material with an object as a partner and culminates with a montage.
Throughout the development of this material the performer will weave it with texts, songs and the use of space.
The workshop aims at encouraging a personal process opening up hidden meanings.
My life and my work have been inseparable since I began with theatre more than 40 years ago. In theatre you see necessities combined with curiosity and craft; with images, associations and amazement in which the imagination and intentions play an intregal part. Experience propels our creative world into new realms and a need to meet, transmit and share."

Testimonials

I had the luck and the opportunity to participate in the Feats of Performing seminar. An experience that was decisive for my subsequent career as an actor and as a creator. Until that moment I had a more horizontal perspective in the study of my art. After this particular seminar I discovered how to study continuously with the result of reaching a greater level in what I study. Maestro Donald Kitt has a magical way of leading the actors with respect, discretion, and humor. He creates an environment of safety so that the participant has the opportunity to regenerate through the process.

Working with Donald was a liberating experience. In his workshops, he invites you to explore what it means to you to be a performer. Through the training, you have a chance to find out for yourself what might work and what not. As a performer and dramaturg it deepened my understanding (physically, mentally and by heart) of how to be more alert to what makes a performance or scene 'alive'.

From the beginning, it was clear that the purpose of the work was not some kind of achievement or performative result to reach within the three weeks of residency. We were training to learn how to train: how to be consistent without becoming mechanical; how to push one's limits without being obsessed by the final result and, most importantly, how to have patience with oneself and trust the process.
Feats of Performing does not last three weeks: it starts with the three weeks in Holstebro and lasts as long as you keep training.

My experience in Feats of Performing and the physical and acting training directed by Donald has been a rich place of encounter with myself, not only with my abilities and tools as an actress, but also with my dark areas, my neglected places and premises to work on. All this made me feel always focused on a different way of seeing theatrical work, making me grow not only as a performer, but also as a creative person and owner of a world of ideas, worth materializing. I learned above all that there is no single method, but that it is worthwhile to find oneself and lose oneself in the creative world that one wants to propose, embracing the inner world rich in possibilities, giving value to one's own instincts and learning to create from oneself, thus becoming autonomous artists.
